Collection: Assemblages
Luciano Iacobelli collected objects from nature, from garbage, from thrift store shelves and arbitrarily organized them on surfaces along with his paints, graphite, glues and such. Iacobelli has playfully adopted these discarded orphans, drawing them into his own universe to create, what he referred to as, assemblages
His assemblages pay homage to the Arte Povera movement, emerging out of Italy, whose artists explored a range of unconventional processes and non-traditional ‘everyday’ materials.
Luciano's assemblages are characterized by his manipulation of symbolism, imbuing each piece with a playful and intentional ambiguity that defies easy interpretation. This ambiguity allows the viewer to craft their own complex meaning or to strip away narrative entirely.
